Ultraviolette Launches X-47 Venom EV Bike at ₹2.65 Lakh

Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the X-47 Venom electric motorcycle, priced at ₹2.65 lakh, featuring its new 100V VX-100 architecture. The company plans to scale production significantly, targeting 10,000 units per month by 2027 and expanding its export footprint from current levels.

Ultraviolette Automotive, the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, has launched its latest electric motorcycle, the X-47 Venom, priced at ₹2.65 lakh. This model is the first to be built on the company’s proprietary 100V VX-100 architecture, which the firm claims is 20 kg lighter than its previous platforms. The launch marks a shift in the company’s engineering strategy, focusing on higher-performance electric mobility.

Technical performance is a key differentiator for the X-47 Venom. The motorcycle is equipped with a new motor and battery technology, delivering an IDC-certified range of 343 km and a top speed of 155 kmph. A notable feature for the domestic EV sector is the inclusion of 12 kW DC fast charging capabilities, aimed at reducing downtime for long-distance riding. Safety features include radar-based rider assistance, integrated dashcams, and a battery management system that utilizes a pyro-fuse for emergency disconnection.

From a business perspective, the company is focused on a rapid production scale-up. Ultraviolette is currently targeting a monthly output of 1,000 units. The company has announced an ambitious long-term objective to increase this capacity to 10,000 units per month by October 2027. Achieving this target will require consistent demand in the premium electric motorcycle segment and robust supply chain management, particularly for high-voltage components.

International expansion is also a core part of the growth strategy. The company is preparing for a product reveal at EICMA in Milan, Italy. Exports, which currently account for over 10 percent of the company's total volume, are projected to rise to 25 percent within the next 30 months. This strategy suggests an attempt to reduce reliance on the domestic market by tapping into global demand for premium electric two-wheelers.

For observers of the Indian electric vehicle sector, the execution of these plans will be the primary monitorable. Scaling production capacity while maintaining product quality and managing costs is a recurring challenge for EV startups. Investors and industry participants will likely track whether the company can meet its production milestones and how the market receives the new, higher-performance architecture compared to existing premium electric options.
