Tata Punch Facelift Arrives with Turbo Power and Enhanced Tech
Tata Motors has unveiled the 2026 facelift for its popular Punch micro-SUV, bringing significant updates to styling, features, and powertrain options. The refreshed model aims to bolster its appeal in a competitive segment, starting with an ex-showroom price of ₹5.59 lakh. The most striking addition is the Punch iTurbo variant, which packs a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque.
Contemporary Exterior and Interior Updates
The exterior receives a contemporary makeover with sleeker LED daytime running lights, redesigned LED headlamps, and a revised 3D front grille. New SUV cladding and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels complement the signature boxy silhouette. At the rear, connected LED taillights and a redesigned bumper offer a more modern aesthetic. Inside, the cabin adopts a more premium feel with a dual-tone theme, a digital steering wheel, and a digital instrument cluster. Redesigned air vents and a central console with an armrest enhance comfort and ergonomics.
Technology and Safety Boost
Tech enthusiasts will appreciate the larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity and over 45 connected car features, offering remote commands and vehicle health monitoring. The facelift also introduces practical enhancements like a 360-degree parking camera, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and LED fog lamps with cornering function. Safety remains a strong point, with standard six airbags, ESC, ABS, TPMS, and reverse parking sensors. The Punch facelift maintains its 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection.
Powertrain Options Expand
While the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (73.4 bhp, 103 Nm) continues with manual and AMT options, Tata Motors introduces a segment-first CNG AMT powertrain. This CNG option delivers 87.8 bhp and 115 Nm. The new turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, targets buyers seeking spirited performance, enabling a claimed 0-100 kmph sprint in 11.1 seconds. Boot space stands at 366 litres for petrol variants and 210 litres for CNG models.
