Skoda Kushaq Facelift Arrives: Fresh Look, New Features Challenge Rivals
Overview

Skoda Auto India unveils the 2026 Kushaq facelift, its first major update since 2021. The popular mid-size SUV receives exterior styling revisions, an updated cabin with a new infotainment system and digital cluster, and potentially a panoramic sunroof. It aims to strengthen its position against key rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Refreshed Exterior and Interior Revealed

The 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift has been officially teased, showcasing a significantly revised front fascia. Key updates include a new grille design, updated LED headlights, and a restyled bumper. New alloy wheels are also part of the package. While the rear remains under wraps, expectations are for updated LED taillights and a revised bumper.

Inside the cabin, the facelifted Kushaq is set to feature new upholstery and a redesigned dashboard. A new touchscreen infotainment system and an all-new digital instrument cluster are anticipated. Familiar elements like the two-spoke steering wheel, Climatronic automatic climate control, and front ventilated seats are expected to continue. The introduction of a panoramic sunroof is a notable addition for higher variants.

Powertrain and Safety Mantained

The India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform underpins the Kushaq, which continues to prioritize safety. The outgoing model already boasts a five-star Global NCAP rating, equipped with features such as six airbags, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. The facelift is anticipated to build upon this strong safety foundation.

Under the hood, the Kushaq facelift is expected to retain its existing turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI engine will continue to offer 115PS and 178Nm with manual and automatic torque converter options. The more potent 1.5-litre TSI engine, producing 150PS and 250Nm, currently paired only with a DSG automatic, might also become available with a manual transmission.

Pricing and Variants Expected

The current Skoda Kushaq ranges from Rs 10.66 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model is projected to start around Rs 10.70 lakh, with top variants reaching approximately Rs 19 lakh. A panoramic sunroof will be exclusive to the top-end Prestige variant. Alloy wheels and a sunroof are expected to be standard across all variants. Consumers will have a choice of eight colour options: Candy White, Brilliant Silver, Deep Black, Lava Blue, Carbon Steel, Shimla Green, Steel Grey, and Cherry Red. Skoda also confirmed the Kodiaq RS will launch in India in Q2 2026, and the Kylaq will see a variant reshuffle.
