Sansera Engineering Shares Dip 2% Despite Record Q1 Results

Sansera Engineering reported its highest-ever Q1 revenue of ₹10,213 million, up 33% year-on-year. While strong growth in aerospace and non-auto segments boosted earnings, the stock price fell nearly 2.4% on August 13, 2026, as investors booked profits following a recent rally to 52-week highs.

Sansera Engineering delivered its strongest quarterly financial performance in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, with revenue climbing 33% year-on-year to ₹10,213 million. Despite this operational success, the company's shares closed lower, down approximately 2.35% at ₹3,786.00 on August 13, 2026. This decline appears to be driven by profit-booking activities after the stock recently hit a 52-week high.

Financial performance for the quarter remained robust, with EBITDA (a measure of operating profit) increasing 48% year-on-year to ₹1,961 million. The company successfully improved its EBITDA margin by 200 basis points to 19.2%, driven by a favorable product mix and operational efficiency. While reported profit after tax (PAT) grew 39% to ₹874 million, the underlying performance was even stronger. The company incurred a ₹127 million post-tax exceptional cost related to litigation, bringing its normalized profit after tax to ₹1,000 million.

Growth was primarily powered by the company's non-automotive segments, particularly in the Aerospace, Defence, and Semiconductor (ADS) division. This specialized division has seen rapid expansion and now holds an order backlog of approximately ₹5,700 crore, indicating significant future revenue visibility. The surge in this segment highlights the company's strategic shift toward higher-value products outside of its traditional automotive business.

Analysts from Choice Institutional Equities have responded to the results by maintaining an 'Add' rating on the stock with a target price of ₹3,880. This outlook is supported by the company's strong order inflows and improved earnings visibility. However, investors are also weighing specific business risks. These include the challenges of executing large-scale capital spending programs on time and potential exposure to geopolitical and macroeconomic pressures, such as fluctuating crude oil prices and global supply chain dependencies.

Going forward, shareholders will likely monitor the company’s ability to maintain its margin profile amidst ongoing expansion. The key monitorable for the next few quarters will be the execution of the substantial order book in the aerospace and defense segments and the successful commissioning of new capacity projects without significant cost overruns.
