Motilal Oswal Keeps Neutral Rating on Bosch, Sets Rs 43,728 Target

Motilal Oswal has maintained a 'Neutral' rating on Bosch with a target price of Rs 43,728. While the company saw a 22% revenue increase in Q1 FY27, net profit declined 37% year-on-year due to the absence of a one-time exceptional gain. Analysts view the stock as fairly valued, noting potential risks like rising raw material costs and working capital management.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services has reiterated its 'Neutral' rating on Bosch Limited, assigning a target price of Rs 43,728. This update follows the company’s first-quarter financial results for fiscal year 2027, which highlighted a strong operational performance but a decline in overall net profit.

Bosch reported a 22% year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 5,842 crore for the quarter ending June 2026. The company also improved its operational efficiency, with EBITDA margins reaching 14%. However, the net profit for the quarter fell 37% compared to the same period last year. This decline is largely attributed to a base effect, as the company had recorded a significant one-time exceptional gain in the previous year's corresponding quarter that did not recur this year.

Valuation and Growth Outlook

Despite the decline in net profit, the brokerage firm has raised its earnings estimates by 11% for FY27 and 5% for FY28. Motilal Oswal projects that Bosch could achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26% in revenue, 31% in EBITDA, and 17% in net profit through fiscal year 2028. Even with these positive growth projections, analysts consider the stock to be fairly valued at its current trading multiples.

Investors should note that the company recently completed the acquisition of Bosch Chassis Systems India (RBIC) on July 1, 2026, which is a key corporate development. This strategic move aims to strengthen its product portfolio, though the integration process and its impact on financials will be areas to watch.

Risks for Investors

While the company continues to focus on growth, analysts have highlighted several risks that could impact performance. Raw material cost inflation, particularly regarding steel and aluminium prices, remains a potential pressure point for profit margins. Additionally, investors may monitor how the company manages its working capital, specifically the reduction of receivables.

There is also the factor of the two-wheeler segment's growth, which has moved past its initial high-growth phase and may now see more normal, slower growth rates. Furthermore, because a portion of Bosch’s business is export-oriented, the company faces exposure to global macroeconomic uncertainties and currency volatility, which can influence both demand and profitability. The next steps for investors will be observing how the company maintains its margin profile and manages these input cost pressures in the coming quarters.
