Mahindra's Executive Director and CEO, Rajesh Jejurikar, revealed insights into the company's electric vehicle (EV) journey during the Best CEOs Awards. He emphasized the crucial role of humility in developing their 'Born Electric' platform, acknowledging early on that the company needed to acquire external knowledge. Mahindra focused on owning the customer user interface while being open to buying other technologies. The company also learned to build scale internally rather than relying on overseas centers, moving 800 employees to establish a dedicated EV center. Jejurikar also highlighted Mahindra's customer-centric approach, citing the success of the three-door Thar SUV as an example of understanding customer desires.
