Maharashtra emerged as the top state for passenger and commercial vehicle sales in the September quarter of FY26, selling 1,31,822 and 37,091 units respectively. Uttar Pradesh led the two-wheeler market with 6,92,869 units and the three-wheeler market with 28,246 units during the same period. Overall, 10.39 lakh passenger vehicles, 2.40 lakh commercial vehicles, 55.62 lakh two-wheelers, and 2.29 lakh three-wheelers were sold nationwide, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
