New Honda City Arrives at Dealerships
The updated Honda City has started arriving at dealerships across India, confirming its upcoming launch on May 22. This arrival marks the final stage before the facelift officially hits the market, with Honda preparing to introduce a refreshed version of its popular sedan.
Refreshed Looks and New Tech Inside
The facelift is expected to feature a more refined front end with redesigned LED headlamps that include integrated daytime running lights and a revised grille. New black-finished alloy wheels are also expected. At the rear, the bumper gets an update, and a more prominent spoiler adds a sportier look. Inside, the cabin could see a larger, free-standing infotainment touchscreen with wireless connectivity, blue ambient lighting, and potentially ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera for added convenience.
Proven Engines and Key Rivals
Mechanically, the Honda City facelift will carry over its current engine options. This includes the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 121hp, available with both manual and CVT automatic transmissions. The efficient City e:HEV strong-hybrid variant is also expected to continue. The facelifted model will continue to compete against strong rivals like the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, and Skoda Slavia in the premium midsize sedan segment. Pricing is anticipated to see a slight increase from the current model's range of ₹11.99 lakh to ₹19.99 lakh.
Big Savings on Current Honda City
As the new model arrives, dealers are actively offering significant discounts on the outgoing Honda City to clear existing inventory. These benefits reportedly reach as high as ₹1.56 lakh, providing a compelling reason for buyers looking for value on the current generation sedan.
