Gabriel India Profit Rises 2%, Announces ₹948 Cr Auto-Tech JV

Gabriel India reported a 2% increase in June quarter net profit to ₹107.4 crore alongside a 15.5% revenue rise. The company also announced a ₹948.2 crore deal to acquire a 30% stake in South Korea's HL Klemove India, marking its entry into autonomous driving and advanced automotive electronics.

Detailed Coverage

Gabriel India Limited reported a consolidated net profit of ₹107.4 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, representing a 2% growth over the ₹105.3 crore profit in the same period last year. Revenue from operations climbed 15.5% to ₹1,425.7 crore, up from ₹1,234.4 crore a year ago. Despite the annual revenue growth, the company faced sequential margin pressure as higher expenses limited bottom-line growth. Compared to the March quarter, net profit declined 9.2% from ₹118.3 crore, while total expenses rose 4.1% to ₹1,339.8 crore, resulting in a 9.6% dip in profit before tax.

Entry into Automotive Electronics

Beyond the quarterly financial results, Gabriel India announced a major strategic expansion into the automotive electronics market. The board has approved a ₹948.2 crore investment to acquire a 30% stake in HL Klemove India, a subsidiary of South Korea-based HL Klemove Corporation. This move marks the company’s transition beyond its traditional suspension business into high-growth areas like autonomous driving technology. The joint venture will focus on manufacturing advanced driver assistance systems, radar, cameras, lidar, and electronic control units for the Indian automotive market.

Joint Venture Governance and Strategy

The new partnership will operate under a clear governance structure. HL Klemove Corporation will maintain majority control with a 70% stake, while Gabriel India holds the remaining 30% stake minus one share. The joint venture will be governed by a 10-member board, with the South Korean partner nominating six directors and Gabriel India nominating four. Operational leadership will be shared, with the managing director appointed by HL Klemove, supported by two joint managing directors representing both partners.

Market Reaction

Following the announcement of the financial results and the strategic investment, shares of Gabriel India closed at ₹1,510.10 on the National Stock Exchange on July 21, 2026, representing an 8.02% increase.

Investors may monitor the execution timeline for this joint venture and how the company manages the capital allocation for this acquisition relative to its ongoing operations. The key area to track in future quarters will be whether the revenue growth continues to outpace the rise in operating expenses and how the new electronics business segment begins to contribute to the overall profit margins.
