Endurance Tech Shares Gain 3% on Expansion and Q1 Results

Shares of Endurance Technologies rose 3.11% today as the company announced plans to boost manufacturing capacity in braking and suspension systems. The auto component maker reported a 29.6% jump in Q1 FY27 revenue to ₹4,348.28 crore, while simultaneously scaling its electric vehicle battery business. Investors are monitoring how these new projects and increased spending will impact profit margins in the coming quarters.

Endurance Technologies shares moved up 3.11% on Monday, trading at approximately ₹2,987.55, following recent announcements regarding significant capacity expansion and strong quarterly financial performance. The company is actively scaling its manufacturing footprint across key divisions, including braking systems and suspension components, while deepening its involvement in the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain.

In the braking systems segment, the company plans to add about 0.9 million units of ABS capacity, with operations expected to begin between September and October 2026. Additionally, a new disc brake facility in Chennai, with a capacity of 3 million assemblies, is preparing to start supplies to Royal Enfield in September 2026. The company expects to ramp up production for other vehicle manufacturers by the third quarter of fiscal year 2027.

Scaling the EV Business

Endurance Technologies is prioritizing its EV segment, producing components like battery packs, motor controllers, and aluminium castings. The company’s battery pack plant in Pune, which began operations in June, reached a capacity of 26,000 units per month. Looking ahead, the company is investing ₹62 crore to enter the four-wheeler battery pack market, with the start of production targeted for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2027.

These initiatives come as the company continues to see strong demand. In its recent Q1 FY27 earnings, Endurance reported consolidated revenue of ₹4,348.28 crore, marking a 29.6% increase compared to the previous year. The consolidated net profit for the quarter stood at ₹244.52 crore.

Financial Context and Risks

While the top-line revenue shows solid growth, investors are watching the impact of rising costs. The company is dealing with pressure on profit margins, which has been driven by higher commodity prices and the initial costs of setting up these new manufacturing facilities. Any delay in the ramp-up of new programs or unforeseen increases in project spending could affect future profitability.

Furthermore, the company faces exposure to currency fluctuations, particularly concerning its European operations. The success of the current expansion strategy depends on the timely execution of orders and the ability to maintain demand from major original equipment manufacturers. Analysts at Axis Securities have maintained a positive outlook, citing strong order visibility and the company's progress in the EV segment, with a target price of ₹3,255.

For the coming months, the key updates to watch will be the commissioning of the new ABS and disc brake lines, the progress of the four-wheeler battery pack project, and whether the company can improve margins as these new production lines stabilize.
