Classic Legends has launched three new Yezdi motorcycle models priced between ₹2.07 lakh and ₹2.34 lakh. The company is betting on strong demand from riders under 35, who account for 80% of its sales. This expansion aims to capture a 10% market share in the growing 350cc-plus segment.
Classic Legends has introduced a new range of Yezdi motorcycles, specifically targeting the mid-size segment that continues to attract young Indian riders. The newly launched lineup includes the Yellow Falcon Adventure, Green Mamba Roadster, and Grey Panther Scrambler. These models are priced between ₹2,06,969 and ₹2,33,969, a range that places them in direct competition within the popular mid-capacity motorcycle space.
The company is focused on the segment of motorcycles with engine capacities of 350cc and above. According to industry estimates, this category represents approximately 1.5 million units annually and is projected to grow by 10% to 15% in the coming years. By aligning its launch with the festive season, the company aims to capitalize on consumer sentiment to boost its market presence.
Production Capacity and Expansion Strategy
Classic Legends currently operates a manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, which has an installed annual capacity of 500,000 motorcycles. Production is currently reported at around 100,000 units, indicating significant room to increase output if market demand aligns with the company’s expectations. Scaling production efficiently will be essential for managing overheads as the company attempts to grow its market share.
The company is also prioritizing its physical retail footprint to support these new launches. It currently operates 350 touchpoints across the country and plans to expand this network to 500 by Diwali this year, with a long-term goal of reaching 700 dealerships by the end of the 2028 financial year. In Kerala, a market the company identified as having strong historical brand recall for Yezdi, it plans to add 20 additional retail outlets.
Market Context and Monitorables
While the 350cc-plus segment is expanding, it is also highly competitive, with established players like Royal Enfield holding significant market leadership. The success of this new lineup will depend heavily on the company's ability to maintain product quality, ensure timely service support through its expanding dealer network, and sustain consumer interest against entrenched competitors.
Investors may monitor the company’s ability to move from current production levels toward higher capacity utilization, as well as the progress of its dealership expansion. The cost of building this retail network and managing marketing expenses during the entry phase will likely be key factors influencing the company’s profit margins in the near term.
