Royal Enfield Expands Production with New Andhra Pradesh Facility
Royal Enfield, a prominent motorcycle manufacturer and subsidiary of Eicher Motors Ltd, is set to significantly ramp up its production capabilities. The company proposes a new greenfield manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore (approximately $300 million). This new plant will be located in Tada, within the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.
This expansion is a strategic move driven by the high demand for Royal Enfield motorcycles. The company's current manufacturing facilities are operating at nearly full capacity, producing around 1.46 million motorcycles annually. The robust sales performance, with over 1.2 million units sold in the 2025-26 financial year, highlights the need for increased output. The planned facility, pending board approval, will be developed in phases to adapt to market needs. This investment aims to increase the total annual production capacity to beyond 2 million units, complementing the earlier expansion announced for the Cheyyar plant in Tamil Nadu.
