Kerala Expansion Bolsters Market Leadership
Oben Electric is significantly expanding its retail footprint in Kerala, targeting 10 new showrooms by the end of fiscal year 2027. This plan aims to ensure its electric motorcycles are accessible across all 14 districts in the state, highlighting the company's commitment to one of India's fastest-growing electric vehicle markets. The expansion will improve customer access to sales and after-sales support.
Rorr Evo's Strong Debut Fuels Growth
The expansion announcement comes after the successful launch of the Oben Rorr Evo. The electric motorcycle secured over 25,000 bookings within 15 days of its April 30 launch, showing strong consumer interest in high-performance electric two-wheelers. The Rorr Evo is priced at an introductory ₹99,999 for the first 10,000 customers, with the price increasing to ₹1,24,999 ex-showroom afterward. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in June 2026.
Kerala Leads Oben Electric's Growth
Kerala is currently Oben Electric's strongest market, with customers showing a clear preference for high-performance electric motorcycles. The company already has seven showrooms in the state, located in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Malappuram, Palakkad, Kondotty, and Alappuzha. Registration data from VAHAN confirms Oben Electric's top position among electric motorcycle brands in Kerala for CY25.
Nationwide Expansion and Manufacturing Strength
Nationwide, Oben Electric operates over 150 showrooms and service centers across more than 100 cities and 18 states. The company plans to add another 200 exclusive showrooms by the end of FY27, aiming for a total of over 350 stores. This expansion is supported by a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru with an annual capacity of 100,000 motorcycles, which can be scaled to 300,000 units. Oben Electric focuses on in-house production of key components like LFP batteries, motors, and control units, giving it a competitive edge in cost and quality. The Indian electric motorcycle market is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 13% from 2026-2032, potentially reaching USD 80 million by 2032. The Rorr Evo offers a 180 km IDC range, a top speed of 110 km/h, and 0-40 km/h acceleration in 3 seconds. The company is also planning to raise approximately ₹300 crore by Q2 FY27 to fund its growth.
