Nearly all Indian states and Union Territories have joined the Centre's Digital Agriculture Mission (DAM), a tech-driven initiative to digitally identify farmers and map farm activities. This move aims to streamline subsidy distribution, credit access, insurance, and procurement, enabling more efficient policymaking and farmer-centric schemes. While West Bengal and Delhi are yet to join, the mission seeks to build digital public infrastructure (DPI) for agriculture, fostering innovation and transparency in the sector that employs half of India's population.
