Indigenous Defense Win
Noida-based IG Defence announced Thursday it has secured orders from both the Indian Army and the Indian Navy for its indigenously developed IG T-Shul Pulse Anti-Drone System. This significant procurement signals a growing reliance on domestic solutions by India's armed forces to counter evolving unmanned aerial threats.
The induction of the system by both services is expected within the next month, bolstering operational capabilities against drones used for surveillance and infiltration.
IG T-Shul Pulse Capabilities
The IG T-Shul Pulse system is designed as a lightweight, rapidly deployable, electronic warfare-based jammer. It offers an effective jamming range of up to two kilometers under ideal line-of-sight conditions. The system employs a multi-band, directionally controlled electronic denial architecture, a step up from older single-function jammers.
This directional approach ensures threats are engaged without disrupting friendly communications or sensitive naval systems. Its ability to focus electronic energy precisely enhances neutralization effectiveness while minimizing electromagnetic interference.
Strategic Alignment and Production
This contract aligns with the Indian government's 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiatives, emphasizing the development and deployment of indigenous defense technologies. IG Defence stated the system is entirely designed, developed, and manufactured in India. The company currently possesses a production capacity in the hundreds, scalable to meet substantial operational requirements.
