Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to deliver the first batch of 8 Tejas Mk1A fighter jets within 24 to 36 months, according to a report. The production is expected to start slow and gradually increase as HAL’s manufacturing line gains momentum. This follows a Rs 62,400 crore contract signed in September for 97 such aircraft. HAL has also contracted General Electric for 113 engines required for these jets.
