Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has signed a contract with Germany's Hensoldt Sensors GmbH at the Dubai Air Show 2025 to acquire design transfer and intellectual property rights for advanced helicopter obstacle-avoidance technologies. The agreement covers Obstacle Avoidance Systems (OAS) and Degraded Visual Environment (DVE) systems, aiming to strengthen India's indigenous capability in LiDAR-based systems and support safer flight operations in poor visibility.
