Overview

The consortium of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Larsen & Toubro has successfully built India's first indigenously produced Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket. This significant achievement is set to launch the Oceansat satellite early next year. The production is part of ISRO's initiative to transfer launch vehicle manufacturing to industry partners, with the consortium contracted to build five PSLV-XL rockets.
