Boeing India Defence Private Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Bengaluru-based Merlinhawk Aerospace to provide localized support for advanced Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) systems. These specialized systems are used on various defence platforms, most notably the Indian Navy's P-8I long-range maritime patrol aircraft.

Under this new agreement, Merlinhawk Aerospace’s L3Harris WESCAM Authorized Service Centre in Bengaluru will serve as the primary facility for maintenance, repair, and technical support. By shifting these services to a local hub, the initiative is designed to reduce the time aircraft spend out of service. Instead of relying on international facilities for complex repairs, the Indian Navy can now access these technical capabilities domestically, which is a key factor in maintaining high fleet availability for maritime security operations.
