Aequs Hits Record High After Board Approves ₹650 Crore Capital Infusion

Aequs shares reached a new peak of ₹286.05 following the board's approval of a ₹650 crore capital infusion from promoters. The funds are earmarked for expanding aerospace and consumer goods capacity. Investors are now monitoring how the company balances its ambitious revenue growth targets with the operational demands of scaling these two distinct business verticals.

Aequs shares reached a new record high of ₹286.05, reflecting investor interest following the company's announcement of a ₹650 crore capital infusion. The board approved the issuance of 28.07 million warrants to Mellwood Trustee Services Private Limited, representing the promoter group. This capital injection, priced at ₹231.55 per share, is designed to strengthen the company’s financial position as it prepares for large-scale facility expansion at its Hosur plant.

A notable feature of this funding plan is the upfront collection of 50% of the capital, which provides immediate liquidity for the company’s growth plans. The remaining balance is set to be paid upon the conversion of warrants over an 18-month period, ending in late 2027. This move will raise the promoter group’s equity stake to approximately 60.73%, signaling continued commitment from the leadership.

The company’s growth strategy centers on its aerospace division, which currently holds an order book exceeding $1 billion. This segment has shown consistent progress, growing 13% quarter-on-quarter. Aequs anticipates a compound annual growth rate of 25% to 30% for its aerospace business over the next five years. Maintaining EBITDA margins above 20% in this capital-intensive sector will be a critical metric for investors to track, as aerospace manufacturing requires consistent investment in technology and skilled labor to manage complex project execution.

In parallel, Aequs is expanding its consumer goods vertical, which represents a diversification effort for the company. The leadership has set an ambitious target for this segment, projecting revenue to grow 10 to 18 times over the next five years. Achieving this scale involves increasing capacity utilization to 50%, a transition that requires significant operational scaling. The company expects the consumer business to reach EBITDA breakeven by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2027, with potential for positive profit after tax by 2028 or 2029.

For investors, the primary risks associated with this expansion involve the execution of such large-scale plans. While the aerospace division provides a stable foundation, the consumer segment is in a capital-intensive build-up phase, which can put pressure on cash flows. The ability of the management to balance these two different business models—high-precision aerospace manufacturing and volume-driven consumer goods—will be essential. Investors may track the company’s ability to convert its order book into revenue while managing the debt levels associated with its ongoing facility expansions. The pace of capacity utilization and the achievement of the breakeven milestone in the consumer vertical remain the key operational triggers for the company’s future financial health.
