Complementing the tourism sector's recognition, Aarthi Scans and Labs praised the budget for its clear, investment-led focus on bolstering healthcare capacity. Founder and Managing Director V Govindarajan emphasized the acknowledgment of diagnostics as a vital component of preventive care.

The budget's plan to expand Allied Health Professional Institutions and add one lakh professionals across radiology and allied disciplines directly addresses the skilled manpower shortage faced by diagnostic networks, especially as they expand into tier II and III cities. Regional Medical Hubs Planned

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her ninth budget presentation, detailed plans to upgrade existing Allied Health Professionals Institutions and integrate diagnostics with clinical care, research, education, and AYUSH through proposed Regional Medical Value Tourism hubs. This push aims to foster globally competitive healthcare ecosystems.

To further promote India as a hub for medical tourism, the budget proposes a scheme to support states in establishing five Regional Medical Hubs. These complexes will integrate medical, educational, and research facilities, signaling a significant public-private partnership initiative.
