Google Boosts Indian Startups with Global Market Access, New AI Models
Overview

Google launched a Market Access Program and new Gemma AI models to aid Indian startups in global expansion and AI application development. This initiative supports Google's broader investment in India's AI infrastructure, including a green-energy-powered AI hub in Andhra Pradesh. The program offers strategic guidance, global network access, and advanced computing resources to help startups scale.

Google unveiled its Market Access Program aimed at helping Indian startups break into international markets. This new initiative, announced Thursday, seeks to remove entry barriers and accelerate growth for local companies. It complements Google's significant investment in India's AI infrastructure.

Boosting Global Reach

The program is designed for AI-first startups that have progressed beyond the initial prototype phase. It offers specialized training in global enterprise sales, pricing strategies, and understanding international buyer psychology. Startups will also gain access to Google's extensive global network through facilitated introductions to CIOs and CXOs worldwide.

Advanced AI Tools for Startups

Alongside the market access initiative, Google introduced new additions to its Gemma open model family. MedGemma 1.5 is tailored for healthcare AI, allowing startups to process large-scale medical imaging data. FunctionGemma, a lightweight model, optimizes function calling for on-device, agent-based systems, enabling secure local actions.

These AI models are intended to provide developers with robust building blocks for creating production-ready, scalable AI applications. Google highlighted that these launches reinforce its commitment to India's digital economy and innovation ecosystem, building on its prior $15 billion investment in AI infrastructure in the region.
