Tata Power Solaroof, the rooftop solar solutions provider under Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), has achieved a significant milestone, installing 1 GWp of solar rooftop capacity between April and December of fiscal year 2026. The company reported adding over 1.7 lakh new installations during this period, marking a substantial leap in the burgeoning rooftop solar market.
Rapid Expansion
The installed capacity was primarily generated across residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) segments, underscoring broad market penetration. Tata Power Solaroof experienced an impressive 345% year-on-year growth in installations compared to the same period in FY25, which saw 38,494 installations. The December quarter alone recorded 58,476 installations, reflecting a 242% year-on-year increase, signaling strong demand and efficient execution.
Customer Acquisition and Regional Dominance
These efforts have expanded the company's total customer base to over 3 lakh. Cumulative installed capacity now exceeds 4 GWp, demonstrating sustained growth and market leadership. Uttar Pradesh led the nation in new rooftop solar installations by Tata Power Solaroof, with 30,857 installations totaling 128.13 MWp. Maharashtra followed closely, recording 21,044 installations amounting to 126.33 MWp.
Driving Adoption
Through initiatives like the 'Ghar Ghar Solar' campaign, Tata Power is actively promoting solar energy adoption among Indian households and businesses. The company offers a comprehensive solar solution, including long-term performance warranties, flexible financing, insurance, and after-sales service.
