Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has inked a joint development agreement for a significant mixed-use project in Gujarat's GIFT City. Partnering with Shree Lotus Developers, the initiative will create over 10 lakh square feet of premium retail, commercial, and residential spaces. This collaboration is set to boost the financial hub's ongoing development.

Bachchan Enters Gujarat's GIFT City Development

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has joined forces with Mumbai-based Shree Lotus Developers for a substantial real estate venture within Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). The mandatory announcement, made on January 7, details a profit-sharing arrangement for a mixed-use development spanning over 10 lakh square feet.

Project Scope and Developer's Vision

The project, to be executed by Shree Lotus Developers' subsidiary Rise Root Projects Private Limited, marks the firm's debut in Gujarat. It will feature high-end residential units, premium retail spaces, and Grade-A commercial offices. This development is planned for completion within four years of construction commencement.

Shree Lotus Developers brings a track record of completed projects totaling 4.2 lakh square feet, with numerous others currently under construction or in the pipeline. The company's expansion into Gujarat signals confidence in GIFT City's growth trajectory.

GIFT City's Expanding Footprint

GIFT City, India's first operational International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), has rapidly evolved into a major financial and business hub. Its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and supportive policies attract both domestic and international investors, driving demand for premium real estate.

The development around GIFT City, including areas like Shahpur village, has demonstrably improved local employment and economic conditions, according to village officials. Bachchan's involvement is expected to further amplify interest and development in the burgeoning smart city.
