Interio by Godrej is charting an aggressive course in the modular kitchen market, targeting a 10% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next five years. This expansion push is backed by a substantial ₹300 crore investment, aiming to elevate annual sales from the current ₹4,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore by FY2029.
H3: Tapping into Tier 2 and Tier 3 Demand
The company observes a significant shift in consumer preferences, with kitchens evolving from mere functional spaces into lifestyle statements. This evolution is particularly evident in smaller urban centers. Interio reports that sales from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities now constitute 35% of its kitchen business, a marked increase from 24% in FY24.
"The Indian kitchen is no longer just a utility space; it’s becoming a lifestyle statement," stated Dev Narayan Sarkar, senior vice president and head of consumer business at Interio by Godrej. "Consumers today want modular solutions that blend design, functionality and long-term durability. Our growth is being fuelled by these evolving aspirations."
H3: Strategic Investments and Market Positioning
This investment aims to outpace the projected modest growth of India's overall kitchen and dining furniture market, which is expected to reach $251.32 million in 2025 and grow at a 2.28% CAGR until 2030. Interio plans to achieve this by launching new products, deepening its penetration in smaller cities, and expanding its retail footprint.
The company intends to grow its network of kitchen galleries to 250 locations across 120 cities. This expansion is designed to capture the rising demand and cater to a wider consumer base.
H3: Technology and Manufacturing Prowess
Interio is leveraging technology to enhance the customer experience. Its e-commerce platform features a 3D kitchen configurator, allowing customers to visualize layouts and customize modules before connecting with local dealers. Entry-level modular kitchens are priced starting at ₹1.25 lakh.
The company also relies on its manufacturing capabilities. Its Khalapur facility in Maharashtra can produce up to 250 kitchens daily. This production capacity ensures swift delivery, with modular CKD (completely knocked down) units installable within five to seven days, significantly faster than traditional site-built kitchens.
