Ashok Leyland Inaugurates Lucknow EV Manufacturing Plant
Ashok Leyland officially commissioned its new, dedicated electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Lucknow on Friday, January 9. The inauguration marks a significant milestone for both the company and Uttar Pradesh, underscoring the state's ascent as a hub for electric mobility and green industrial growth.
The state-of-the-art facility, located in the Sarojini Nagar Extension-1 industrial area, was inaugurated in the presence of prominent dignitaries. These included Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, and Union Minister for Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy. Senior company leadership, including Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja and Managing Director & CEO Shenu Agarwal, were also in attendance.
Boosting Green Mobility and State Economy
The new plant is strategically positioned to bolster Ashok Leyland's capabilities in the electric vehicle segment. Company management stated that the facility is dedicated exclusively to EV production, aiming to promote clean and sustainable transportation solutions across the state. This development aligns with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision of a one-trillion-dollar economy, attracting substantial investment through pro-industry reforms and robust infrastructure.
