Export Dominance Fuels Nissan India's Performance
Nissan India closed out calendar year 2025 on a robust note, largely propelled by a remarkable surge in vehicle exports. December alone saw the company dispatch 13,470 vehicles internationally, marking its highest monthly export volume in over a decade. This achievement underscores Nissan's pivotal role as a global manufacturing hub for the Japanese automaker.
Domestic sales registered 1,902 units in the same month. The company's strategy clearly prioritizes exports, even as it gears up for an aggressive re-entry into the Indian domestic market. Cumulatively, Nissan India surpassed an impressive 1.2 million vehicle shipments from India during 2025.
New Product Offensive on the Horizon
While 2025 was characterized as a year of consolidation, it also laid critical groundwork for Nissan's upcoming product introductions. The automaker previewed its future lineup, officially revealing the names and design direction for two key upcoming models: the Gravite and the Tekton.
The all-new Nissan Gravite, a 7-seater B-MPV, is slated for launch on January 21. Following this, the global reveal of the Nissan Tekton, a 5-seater C-SUV, is scheduled for February 4. A larger 7-seater C-SUV is anticipated for 2027, aiming to capture fast-growing market segments.
Expanding Reach and Future Outlook
All upcoming models are confirmed to be manufactured in India, with a portion earmarked for export markets. To support this expanding portfolio and enhance customer accessibility, Nissan is actively scaling up its dealer and service network. The company has set an ambitious target of growing its network to 250 showrooms by the end of fiscal year 2027.
Nissan is entering 2026 with a clear strategy. The company is banking on a refined product lineup, continued export strength, and an expanded retail footprint to convert strategic momentum into sustained growth within India's fiercely competitive automotive sector.
