Maruti Suzuki Ships 'Victoris' SUV to 100 Nations, Eyes Global Market
Overview

Maruti Suzuki India has commenced exporting its mid-size SUV, Victoris, globally branded as 'Across', to approximately 100 countries. The initial consignment of over 450 units has departed from Indian ports, signaling a significant expansion of the automaker's international reach and reinforcing its 'Make in India, Make for the World' strategy. This move supports Maruti Suzuki's robust export growth, which has significantly outpaced industry averages.

Maruti Suzuki India commenced exporting its mid-size sports utility vehicle, Victoris, to international markets this Friday. The vehicle will be sold worldwide under the name 'Across,' targeting approximately 100 countries and regions, including Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. A first shipment of over 450 units has already departed from the Mundra and Pipavav ports.

The automaker's push into global markets aligns with the 'Make in India, Make for the World' vision. Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi noted that in the calendar year 2025, with exports exceeding 3.9 lakh vehicles, Maruti Suzuki emerged as India's number one passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth year in a row. Takeuchi highlighted that the company's export growth has significantly outpaced the industry, growing 4.67 times from CY2020 to CY2025, compared to the industry’s 1.43 times growth. The addition of Victoris is expected to further bolster these export ambitions.

The Victoris was introduced in the Indian market in September last year. It is available across all Maruti Suzuki Arena showrooms with a comprehensive offering of 21 variants and a choice of 10 colors, including dual-tone and monotone options. In India, the vehicle is priced starting from ₹10,49,900 ex-showroom. Maruti Suzuki's shares closed Friday at ₹15,856.55 on the BSE, down 1.78%.
