Cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues Invests in Tvarra
Indian cricket star Jemimah Rodrigues has acquired an investor partnership with Tvarra, a Mumbai-based company specializing in women's helmets. This equity-led arrangement signifies a deeper commitment than traditional celebrity endorsements, granting Rodrigues an ownership stake and a role in the brand's strategic direction.
Addressing Female Rider Needs
Tvarra, founded by Alpana Parida, focuses on designing helmets tailored for women. The company addresses common fit and comfort challenges women face with male-oriented designs, accounting for factors like head shape, hair, and earrings while adhering to stringent safety certifications, including ISI for India and DOT for global standards.
Future Growth and Safety Advocacy
Rodrigues' involvement will extend to brand strategy and advocating for responsible riding and enhanced safety for women. Tvarra, which currently reaches customers in over 600 cities primarily online, plans to expand into offline retail by 2026. The brand also aims to introduce helmets for younger riders, aged 5 to 16, as part of its growth plans.
The company's products feature lightweight, certified shells and hair-friendly interiors, designed for urban commutes on scooters. This partnership positions Tvarra for accelerated growth, bolstered by the credibility and reach of a prominent athlete.
