Job Creation Roadmap
Rajasthan DigiFest X TiE Global Summit 2026 dedicated its second day to charting a course for significant employment generation. TiE unveiled an ambitious decade-long initiative aimed at creating 100 million jobs across India. The strategy centers on leveraging entrepreneurship, advancing skills development, and championing 'India-first' innovation as crucial pillars for sustainable economic growth.
The roadmap detailed plans for data-driven identification of employment potential across various sectors. It also emphasized deeper utilization of existing industrial and digital infrastructure in states like Gujarat and Haryana. Large-scale skill training programs, aligned with the demands of emerging technologies, are a cornerstone of this initiative.
Policy and Investment
Discussions frequently turned to policy reforms needed to foster this growth. Speakers advocated for a simplified Goods and Services Tax (GST) structure and reduced compliance burdens for startups and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Greater government procurement from young companies was also called for.
During the 'Destination Madhya Pradesh' session, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav positioned the state as a prime investment hub. He stated that sustained policy support has placed Madhya Pradesh among India's top three investment destinations. Yadav noted, "If you invest INR 100 Cr in Madhya Pradesh, the government is prepared to extend close to INR 30 Cr in support and subsidies."
Women Entrepreneurs and Global Linkages
Former Union minister Smriti Irani addressed the critical role of women entrepreneurs, emphasizing the need to move beyond intent to tangible outcomes. She stressed that "the economics of equity" would dictate meaningful contributions to employment growth. Efforts to bridge credit gaps for women-led micro enterprises, particularly in tier II & III cities, were highlighted as vital for unlocking economic potential.
The summit also explored global connections, with Ammar Al Malik of Dubai Internet City noting the substantial growth in India-UAE non-oil trade. He pointed to Dubai Internet City as a launchpad for Indian startups seeking Middle East market access and talent.
AI's Transformative Role
Artificial Intelligence emerged as a central theme. NVIDIA's Shanker Trivedi expressed optimism, stating that while some jobs might be displaced, AI would ultimately create more opportunities. "Every single person will be more informed and more capable because of AI," Trivedi remarked, urging investment in sovereign AI infrastructure and local data ecosystems.
MIT professor Ramesh Raskar discussed Project NANDA, a global initiative to build reasoning AI systems, linking it to agentic AI's potential for scalable problem-solving in critical sectors like healthcare and education.
Investor Perspectives
Veteran entrepreneur Fadi Ghandour advised founders to maintain momentum, acknowledging that regulatory frameworks often lag behind rapid technological advancement. "Entrepreneurs have to continue building while frameworks catch up," he stated.
Navneet Munot, MD and CEO of HDFC Asset Management, offered a bullish outlook on India's growth prospects, echoing Warren Buffett's sentiment: "Everyone who is in India today is at the right place at the right time."
