Indigenous Innovation Deployed
Karnataka Minister M B Patil formally handed over airport runway cleaning vehicles, engineered and built by Anlon Technology Solutions Limited, to Noida International Airport Limited on Monday. Officials confirmed these machines represent the nation's first indigenously manufactured runway cleaning units.
'Make in India' Milestone
The project, manufactured under the Government of India's 'Make in India' initiative, was developed in partnership with Swiss firm Bucher Municipal. Anlon Technology Solutions, known for its engineering and infrastructure equipment, assembled the vehicles at its facility near Doddaballapur.
Enhancing Aviation Safety
Keys for two vehicles were presented to Noida airport representative Pradeep Rana. These machines are designed to meticulously remove hazardous materials such as nails and sharp metal fragments from runways, directly mitigating risks to aircraft tyres. They also vacuum dust and clear away algae, which can compromise aircraft stability during landing and takeoff.
Industrial Ecosystem Support
Minister Patil emphasized the critical role of companies like Anlon, which also produces street-sweeping machines, in bolstering the industrial supply chain. He encouraged Anlon to capitalize on government policies and Karnataka's supportive industrial ecosystem to pursue export opportunities for the new vehicles. The state's Industrial Policy (2025-30) is set to offer targeted assistance and incentives for quality certification to such enterprises.
