Gufic Biosciences ला असेसमेंट इयर (AY) 2023-24 साठी टॅक्स असेसमेंट ऑर्डर (Tax Assessment Order) मिळाली आहे. या प्रकरणात, सुरुवातीला ₹11,88,88,580 इतकी मोठी टॅक्स डिमांड होती, जी कंपनीच्या अपिलानंतर लक्षणीयरीत्या कमी होऊन केवळ ₹11,76,198 झाली आहे.

मात्र, याच ऑर्डरमध्ये कंपनीवर इन्कम टॅक्स ऍक्टच्या सेक्शन 270A(9) अंतर्गत ₹23,52,396 ची पेनल्टी लावण्यात आली आहे. उत्पन्नाची कमी नोंद (under-reported income) केल्यामुळे ही पेनल्टी ठोठावण्यात आली आहे.

कंपनी सध्या या ऑर्डरचे विश्लेषण करत असून, पेनल्टीविरोधात पुढील अपील (Appeal) करण्याची शक्यता आहे. टॅक्स मागणीत मोठी घट होणे हे कंपनीसाठी सकारात्मक असले तरी, लादलेली पेनल्टी आर्थिक अनिश्चितता निर्माण करू शकते.
