Lemon Tree Hotels has officially expanded its presence into Northeast India with the opening of its first property in Assam. The new hotel, named 'Keys Select by Lemon Tree Hotels, Chirang', adds 40 rooms to the company's portfolio.
Managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, the hotel is strategically located approximately 5 kilometers from the New Bongaigaon Railway Station and 188 kilometers from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
This maiden entry into Assam marks a significant step in Lemon Tree's strategy to bolster its footprint in emerging markets and Tier-II cities across India. The expansion diversifies the company's geographical presence and aims to provide branded hospitality options in areas previously underserved by major hotel chains.
Lemon Tree Hotels has consistently pursued growth through management contracts, allowing it to expand its brand and network efficiently without significant capital outlay for each property. This model has been instrumental in scaling its operations to over 130 hotels nationwide. The company's approach contrasts with competitors like Indian Hotels and ITC Hotels, which often focus on luxury segments and major metropolitan areas, and with Chalet Hotels' emphasis on owning upscale assets.
