Vesuvius India reported a decline in Q3 net profit to Rs 57.10 crore from Rs 61.54 crore last year despite a rise in total income. The company also announced the sale of its Mehsana manufacturing facility to Foseco India Limited for Rs 43.25 crore, expected to be completed by year-end.

Vesuvius India Q3 Profit Dips Amid Asset Divestment

Q3 Net Profit: Rs 57.10 Crore | Divestment Value: Rs 43.25 Crore

Reader Takeaway: Revenue grew year-on-year, but net profit margins faced pressure; the Mehsana plant sale signals strategic portfolio consolidation.

What just happened

Vesuvius India released its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. While the company saw its total income rise to Rs 574.65 crore from Rs 554.27 crore in the same quarter last year, the net profit (PAT) fell to Rs 57.10 crore from Rs 61.54 crore. Simultaneously, the company confirmed it entered a Business Transfer Agreement to sell its Mehsana manufacturing unit to Foseco India Limited.

Why this matters

The divestment of the Mehsana facility, which produces crucibles, stoppers, and sleeves, is a strategic move for the company. The sale is being executed as a slump sale for Rs 43.25 crore, with completion expected by December 31, 2026. Management has classified the unit as 'held for sale' under Ind AS 105. Investors should note that while this asset is being sold, the company stated it does not represent a major business line or a shift in geographical strategy, and the financial impact will be realized upon the deal's closure.

Financial Performance

For the nine-month period ending September 30, 2026, Vesuvius India posted a total income of Rs 1,579.00 crore compared to Rs 1,553.56 crore in the same period of 2025. However, year-to-date net profit declined to Rs 183.85 crore from Rs 264.08 crore, reflecting challenging operating conditions during the year.

Governance and Reporting

The results have been reviewed by the Audit Committee and approved by the Board. The statutory auditors provided an unmodified opinion, indicating that the financial statements comply with standard accounting regulations.
