Bharat Technology Limited, a subsidiary of Uravi Defence and Technology Limited, has acquired an additional 10,100 equity shares in UK-based Spafax International Holdings Limited. This transaction secures a 10% stake and is part of Uravi's strategy to grow its defence technology offerings and international presence.
Spafax is recognized for its advanced automotive safety and defence solutions, including patented unbreakable vehicle mirrors and specialized camera systems. Its technologies hold crucial approvals from NATO and the US Defence sector, making them valuable assets for Uravi's ambitions to integrate these capabilities into its own defence products and access new global markets.
This strategic move aligns with India's drive for self-reliance in defence, potentially enabling backward integration and bringing advanced manufacturing expertise to the country. It also positions Uravi Defence to tap into defence supply chains across the UK, European Union, and the United States.
Uravi Defence, formerly known as Uravi T & Wedge Lamps Ltd, has been diversifying its business. The company plans to acquire Spafax International Holdings entirely through a phased approach. An initial 10% stake was acquired around February 20, 2026, for approximately GBP 340,000 (about ₹3.5 Crores). Spafax, founded in 1938, brings a long history of innovation in specialized vehicle solutions.
The acquisition provides shareholders with exposure to Spafax’s defence technology and market access. For Uravi Defence, it strengthens its strategic position in the global defence sector through a partner with established defence credentials, potentially paving the way for technology transfer and manufacturing opportunities in India.
Investors will be watching future capital outlays for subsequent acquisition tranches, as well as the success of integrating Spafax’s technologies and operations. Realizing anticipated synergies will be a key factor for future performance.
Financially, Spafax International Holdings reported total revenue of approximately ₹29 Crore and Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹5 Crore in FY25. Uravi Defence and Technology posted consolidated revenue of ₹44.60 Crore in the same fiscal year.
Key points to track include the progress of subsequent acquisition tranches, the realization of synergies, advancements in penetrating UK, EU, and US defence supply chains, and any announcements on manufacturing integration or technology transfer.
