Panabyte Technologies Wins DRDO Maintenance Contract
Panabyte Technologies has secured a three-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) valued at ₹46.84 lakh from the Department of Defence Research & Development (DRDO). The contract covers the company's Integrated Security and Surveillance System.
This agreement marks a significant addition to Panabyte's business from a key government defense organization. It underscores the company's capabilities in meeting the rigorous demands of entities within the defence sector and promises a steady revenue contribution over the contract's tenure.
Panabyte Technologies, founded in 1981, has a track record in security and surveillance solutions. Previous notable orders include a ₹2.62 crore contract from DRDO for access control systems and a ₹1.52 crore order from Mahindra & Mahindra for similar systems.
However, the company faces persistent challenges. Reports indicate ongoing operational issues and weak financial performance, with sales and profits declining in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026. A low promoter holding has also drawn attention regarding management commitment.
The integrated security and surveillance AMC market includes competitors such as Zicom Electronic Security Systems and Godrej Security Solutions, both offering broad security solutions. Tradesec AMC India, alongside AMC Elettronica, also provides smart intrusion alarm systems relevant to the defence sector.
Looking ahead, investors will focus on the execution of this new DRDO contract and any signs of improvement in Panabyte's financial health and operational efficiency. Any developments concerning the company's promoter holding will also be closely watched.
