Jindal Saw Ltd. has received board approval to establish a new Helically Spiral Welded (HSAW) pipe manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia. The project, involving an approximate investment of USD 10 million, will be undertaken through its joint venture with Saudi-based Buhur Investment Company, named Jindal Saw & Buhur Altavision Co. The facility is planned to have an annual production capacity of up to 350,000 metric tons.
This expansion aims to address the growing demand for pipes in the region, a demand fueled by Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative. The kingdom's ambitious development plan is driving significant infrastructure projects and economic diversification, creating a substantial market opportunity.
The move allows Jindal Saw to strengthen its global manufacturing footprint and cater directly to localized needs in this high-growth market. Saudi Arabia's infrastructure boom is projected to increase annual pipe demand beyond 1.5 million metric tons by 2030, with the overall market expected to exceed $4 billion annually.
This project builds on Jindal Saw's history of international expansion. In June 2025, the company had announced plans for significant Middle East investments, including this specific USD 10 million joint venture with Buhur Investment Company for an HSAW pipe project. Buhur Investment Company focuses on utility and infrastructure projects and is affiliated with Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Contracting Company.
The new Jindal Saw plant will compete in the Saudi market with established manufacturers such as Arabian Pipes Company (around 500,000 MTPA capacity) and Group Five Pipe Saudi (over 700,000 MTPA HSAW capacity), alongside Saudi Steel Pipe Company.
