Antelopus Selan Energy reported a strong Q2 performance with net profit rising to Rs 57.29 crore from Rs 11.81 crore a year ago. Revenue also doubled to Rs 119.08 crore. The results were bolstered by accounting changes in asset amortization and tax refunds, alongside active expansion in its onshore exploration portfolio via new government contracts.

Antelopus Selan Energy Q2 Profit Jumps to Rs 57.29 Crore

Net Profit: Rs 57.29 Crore (vs Rs 11.81 Crore YoY)
Revenue from Operations: Rs 119.08 Crore (vs Rs 55.13 Crore YoY)

Reader Takeaway: Robust growth driven by operational scale and accounting revisions, balanced by future execution risks in new fields.

What just happened

Antelopus Selan Energy delivered a strong financial performance for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Net profit surged significantly to Rs 57.29 crore, compared to Rs 11.81 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations more than doubled to Rs 119.08 crore.

Why this matters

The profitability spike is partly attributed to a strategic revision in accounting estimates for the amortization of oil and gas assets. Following the extension of Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) for the Bakrol, Lohar, and Cambay fields, management adjusted the useful life of these assets. This resulted in a lower amortization charge of Rs 16.91 crore for the quarter, directly boosting the bottom line. Additionally, the company recognized Rs 6.50 crore in other income from a past cess refund.

What changes now

The company is aggressively expanding its footprint. It recently secured government approval for two new onshore contract areas under the Discovered Small Field (DSF) Bid Round-IV in the Krishna-Godavari and Cambay basins. The Revenue Sharing Contracts (RSCs) for these assets were signed on October 22, 2026, marking a new phase of exploration growth.

Risks to watch

Shareholders should monitor the capital expenditure requirements for the newly awarded DSF fields. Furthermore, the 50% Participating Interest acquisition in the Cambay Field remains a work-in-progress, with Rs 38.21 crore already deployed against the carry clause. Successful operational integration of these assets will be critical to sustaining performance.

What to track next

Watch for progress reports on the development of the KG and Cambay basins and the finalization of the Cambay Field acquisition status.
