ACME Solar Holdings Ltd. announced the final commissioning of its 100 MW wind power project in Titoda, Gujarat. The last 4 MW were brought online on April 13, 2026, completing the full capacity of the project and enabling it to begin generating revenue across all units. Officials from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) were present for the commissioning.
With the entire 100 MW now operational, ACME Solar is set to commence full revenue generation from this project. This milestone is a key step in realizing the project's economic potential and contributes to the company's growing renewable energy portfolio.
ACME Solar is a significant player in India's renewable energy sector, operating as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) with diverse solar, wind, and hybrid projects. The Gujarat wind project has been progressively commissioned in phases, with earlier updates confirming 68 MW operational by January 2026 and 96 MW by April 2026. The project utilizes SANY's 4 MW wind turbines. It operates under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), and financing typically comes from institutions like Power Finance Corporation (PFC). The company targets a substantial portfolio, aiming for approximately 7.39 GW across its renewable energy segments.
A formal commissioning certificate from GEDA and PGVCL is still pending, although expected shortly. The company has also faced past challenges, including a GST demand notice of about ₹149.73 crore and regulatory penalties related to project delays and lower capacity utilization in other projects.
ACME Solar is positioned among India's top renewable energy companies. Competitors like Adani Green Energy Ltd. and JSW Energy Ltd. are also expanding their renewable capacities. Adani Green has a substantial operational base, while JSW Energy is growing through various renewable sources. ACME's focus on wind in Gujarat aligns with its broader renewable energy strategy.
Investors will be monitoring the formal issuance of the commissioning certificate. Further updates on the financial performance and revenue recognition from the fully operational 100 MW project are also anticipated, alongside ACME Solar's progress on other ongoing projects and portfolio expansion plans.
