M&M Financial Services board has formally approved the private placement of secured Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) aggregating up to Rs 2,000 crore. Meanwhile, JSW Cement has received a show-cause notice from GST authorities demanding Rs 230 crore, excluding applicable interest and a 10% penalty, covering the fiscal years 2022 through 2024.

In other corporate developments, Waaree Energies’ subsidiary, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions, has entered the specialty gases market targeting the semiconductor and solar sectors. Avenue Supermarts expanded its retail footprint to 515 stores with a new opening in Ahmedabad, and Sterlite Tech introduced new fibre solutions for hyperscale data centers.

The draft suggests reintroducing commission caps and tightening Expense of Management (EoM) methodologies. While these changes may create short-term disruption, the long-term outlook for Value of New Business (VNB) margins remains positive.
