TVS Motor Company has launched its Ronin motorcycle in Sri Lanka, aiming to capture the growing premium lifestyle segment. The bike is now available in two new colours, Nimbus Grey and Midnight Blue, with the top variant priced from LKR 1.499 million (ex-showroom). The launch date was May 9, 2026.
Under the hood, the Ronin features a 225.9 cc, oil-cooled engine delivering 20.4 PS and 19.93 Nm of torque. Notably, it introduces SmartXonnect™ Bluetooth connectivity and other advanced features to the Sri Lankan market, catering to young riders who seek individuality.
This move is part of TVS Motor's strategy to expand its product range in key export markets. By introducing models like the Ronin, the company seeks to strengthen its position in Sri Lanka's competitive two-wheeler landscape and appeal to discerning riders.
The TVS Ronin was first released in India in July 2022. TVS Motor already has a well-established presence in Sri Lanka with its existing motorcycle models. This launch represents a strategic effort to meet evolving consumer tastes and preferences in an important international market.
Potential challenges for the Ronin could include gaining traction against established competitors in Sri Lanka's premium motorcycle segment and navigating currency fluctuations that might impact pricing. Competitors like Bajaj Auto with its Pulsar N250 and Royal Enfield from Eicher Motors, known for similar retro-styled bikes, already target comparable buyers.
Moving forward, TVS Motor will monitor the Ronin's sales performance and market acceptance in Sri Lanka. Key indicators will include customer feedback on the new colours and technology, as well as competitive responses and the company's future product plans for the region.
